Out of Action

Today I was out of action due to a mild flare up. Im feeling a bit more comfortable to share when I have these flare ups as well as the activities that may have caused them. At this point in time I feel like it is important to share a little bit regarding this as it DOES affect how I work, as well as the amount of work I can do.


There is a multi exhibition launch tonight at the historic village and so I chose to take a days break away from the studio and turn my attention to a contextual assignment. I helped with food prep for the event and also guided some help with shifting my equipment in the firehouse into the corner as due to the weather the space was going to be used for the openings.


I was more than happy to shift my work-in-progress into my usual studio space if needed, but I was able to keep it up on the wall during the event.


This led me to get some comments:

  • The colours draw me in.

  • The shuffling of the image is intriguing and attracts the eye.

  • Didn't realise it was one drawing that was split and shuffled.

  • The medium looks printed and when I realised it was powder it emphasised the visual softness.

  • The white/negative space allows the work to breathe.

  • Its youthful
