As someone who tends to take a lot of photos, I often update my 'photo archive' of which I use as references for my work. I find that this reflects my own self journey as I often use photos of my own experiences, yet focus my drawings on my own face/expression.
Not all photos have faces. As I tend to take photos of things that catch my attention in that moment, there are a number of images of the most random things, such as a yellow rain jacket, or a tub of noodles and bread. These 'random' photos are taken due to the patterns of which I see. (The creases in fabric / the knots in bread). I also tend to use found images in a similar manner of zooming into the face/expression.
