Using Pattern to Disrupt a Portrait

After looking at the works of Laith McGregor and his use of pattern to disrupt a portrait, I became curious as to how I can also use pattern to disrupt a portrait. I returned to my archive photos and pulled out a photo of noodles. I decided to simplify the image to its most basic pattern and overlay it on top of a portrait creating a digital concept.




Testing this method of overlaying a pattern on top of a portrait, I wanted to stay true to the colour-ways that are consistent through my practice, so alternated the portrait and the pattern between black-&-white and CMY.
